Virtua Fighter 2 (Sniper)
Genre: 3d Fighter
Developer: AM2
Publisher: Sega

Graphics
The polygon counts aren't as high as we've seen from other 32-bit titles, nor are the textures as sharp. But the framerates, by necessity, are a perfect 60fps, and the fluid, colorful nature of the game's visuals make it rather eye-catching. Additionally, the game appears to run at a much higher resolution than any Playstation 3d fighter.

Sound
Sound effects are disappintingly fuzzy sounding. The tunes are exceedingly well composed and catchy, and with the remixed soundtrack available in this Saturn port, they also sound less synthy than the arcade soundtrack.

Gameplay
Virtua Fighter 2 is the 3d equivalent of Street Fighter II; razor-precise engine dynamics, complete predictability surrounding which moves lead to which outcomes in every possible situation, and some "simple to learn yet difficult to master" controls make VF2 a dream game for the hardcore purist fighter fans around the world.

Overall
It would be difficult to find a game with the combination of precision, outstanding gameplay, and pure fun that VF2 brings to the table. With both popular and cult followings, and marred only by some occasionally mediocre computer AI, VF2 builds upon the original and cements the Virtua Figher franchise in its place at the top of the 3d fighting pinnacle.
